Teaching outdoors is the perfect way to combine the natural environment with more practical learning. Being outside can provide the stimulating environment school children need to learn, create and explore. Built to your school's individual requirements, each structure provides a sheltered space and can be used in all weather, providing shade in the summer months and shelter from the elements in wet weather.
If you are looking to create a natural outdoor classroom then there is no substitute for a thatched Lapa. These structures provide a unique outdoor teaching area for schools that can also be used as a quiet area during lunch breaks and playtime, an outdoor reading area or even a stage. There is no limit to the size of the Lapa nor to the integrations that can be made, such as bespoke furniture, heating, outdoor kitchen equipment and toilet facilities.
As an alternative to a traditionally thatched building, our outdoor classroom range includes contemporary gazebo structures for schools that can comfortably seat up to 30 children (age dependent and seated on benches) plus a number of integrations such as tiered seating, outdoor cushions and more. For schools we recommend our playground amphitheatre for maximum flexibility.

An outdoor classroom in the style of an Amphitheatre with tiered seating. Constructed from pressure treated timber, our experienced team can adapt this amphitheatre style of outdoor classroom to your needs - providing ramped access, feature points such as clocks, alternate roof finishes such as cedar shingle tiles or a thatch roof or a completely open sided structure with bench seating instead of tiered seating.

- Each outdoor classroom is either handcrafted in our Kent workshop or constructed on site using natural hardwood materials. We are able to offer a selection of roof finishings; traditional thatch, Thatch Tiles or Cedar Shingle Roof Tiles. We can also offer Endureed® synthetic thatch if required. Each of our premium oval buildings includes curved balustrades to add space, redwood timber structure for strength and a full internal timber roof to complete. - All of our outdoor classroom structures require a solid base but this can be constructed from raised decking should an appropriate area not be available. In such an instance each structure can be made fully accessible using integrated ramps.
