Deciding to change career is not easy. From being a full-time photographer to entering the marketing world was a big step! I have always been interested in marketing, but never thought I would pursue it as a career or find a company that would allow me to learn gradually. The Lapa Company have given me this opportunity. I admit I was a little scared not knowing anything about gazebos or the manufacturing industry itself, but I am slowly learning about the brands that the company sell. Scheduled overviews with each member of staff about their roles in the business in my first two weeks thoroughly helped me get an insight into how each employee affects the company.

The Lapa Company are affiliate members of BALI (British Association of Landscape Industries) and I was lucky enough to be a part of the meeting with them. I thoroughly enjoyed learning about how they promote and support professional landscapers and garden designers as well as seeing their amazing new laser cut brochure! So far, I have enjoyed working on social media platforms, learning how to change content on a website and attending Kent Vision Live, which really helped my outlook on marketing. At Kent Vision Life I was able to attend live marketing sessions, which had speakers from multiple companies all experienced in Marketing, they focused on social media, marketing strategy and how to use digital channels within your company which I found really useful.

I have much more to learn about the company and industry, and I am looking forward to future tasks and projects, but so far I have enjoyed every task that I’ve been faced with. â€‹
